Featured event of the night was the Crate Late Models mid season Championship $2000 to WIN race. Track record holder #77 Matthew Turner took The Racing Zone $100 award for fast qualifier @ 14.813. But a drawing between the top 4 qualifiers had the start with #38c Chip Brindle on the pole with #77 outside front row followed by #8 Rodney Peters and #117 Tom Maddox. Completion of the first lap found the order as #77-#38c #8 #91Tod Darda #117 #0 Craig Scott. On lap 10 #91 and #25 Dustin Hendrix tangled on the back stretch with #91 getting a flat tire. Restart was #77 #38c #8 #117 #0 #16 Josh Noles. Lap 15 brought another tangle in turn 4 with virtually no change in the positions towards the front, but on lap 23 #117 got by #8 to take over third place. Then on lap 29 caution was displayed due to a spin by #25.The finish at 40 laps was 1st #77 Matthew Turner 2nd #38c Chip Brindle 3rd #117 Tom Maddox 4th #8 Rodney Peters 5th #0 Craig Scott 6th#88 Russ Ogletree 7th #16 Josh Noles 8th #11 Lavon Sparks 9th #55 Parish Duncan 10th #91Tod Darda 11th #16 Trey White 12th #25 Dustin Hendrix 13th #114 Wren Goodman 14th #6 Chad Marchman 15th #12 Brady Burns 16th #13 Roger Cassel 17th #18 14 year old  Matt Dooley.

Also highly anticipated by everyone was the B- Cadet race with a $100 bounty on #3 Jeff Carter who had won the 3 consecutive races. Carter was at a definite disadvantage after drawing 11th starting spot in a field of 14 cars. Three attempts at starting the race had incidents resulting in failure to complete the first lap and finally track officials started a single file restart in the order of #GT47 Thomas Philips #7 Chris Justus #01 Blant Duke #31 Blake Griffin. On lap 7 #17m Mark Knight spun to the inside wall on the backstretch but was able to continue. Restart was #GT47 #31 #01 #31y Lee Fuller #25 Bobby Slauson #28 Robert Chandler #3. Due to time, track officials made the decision to cut the race to 15 laps and on lap 14 a spin by #01 brought about a "Green/White Checker". The finish order was 1st #GT47 2nd #31 Blake Griffin 3rd #31y Lee Fuller 4th #3 Jeff Carter 5th #28 Robert Chandler. Only these five cars finished from a starting field of 14 with the rest out for varying reasons, mostly damage from extremely aggresive racing. So Thomas Philips in the GT47 took home an additional $100 from the bounty on #3 Jeff Carter.

The Modified Mini Stock race saw an increased number of entrants with 10 cars entered and 8 starting the feature. Completion order of the first lap was #66 Scott Burgess #21 Chris Carr #07 Frank Long #9 Evan Lancaster #B14 Bubba Collins. Lap 2 had to be run three times due to mishaps by #93 Benton Morris, #07 and #21Chris Carr, then #8John Caldwell brought another caution on lap 3 with a trip to the mud in the turn 4 inside wall area. Incidents continued throughout the race and the finish was 1st #07 Frank Long 2nd #66 Scott Burgess 3rd #8 John Caldwell 4th #31 Wesley Patterson 5th #B14 Bubba Collins6th #93 Benton Morris 7th #9 Evan Lancaster.

Start of the Hobby Stock race was delayed due to the collapse of a spectator who had to be hospitalized and the race start was required to be delayed until another ambulance was on the scene. I'm happy to report that "Big Joe" Armistead, a retired racer and father of "Little Joe" Armistead, who returned from retirement to race in the Topless Late Models, was released this morning from the hospital and is home recovered from dehydration.

The Hobby race started with #B3 Clifton Moran on the pole and #91 Lee Ownbey sharing the front row. First lap completion order was #B3 #91 #m4 Winford Minix #1JMike Jenkins. A restart after a lap 3 spin by #1Jhad the order as #B3 #m4 #91 #81 Houston Hatchett. The race was called for time on lap 16 with the finish being 1st #B3 Clifton Moran 2nd #m4 Winford Minix 3rd #91 Lee Ownbey 4th #79 Carl Jones 5th #12 Gary Brand 6th#1JMike Jenkins 7th #57 Ricky Garland 8th #86 George Purgeson 9th #81 Houston Hatchett 10th #74 Jamie Garner.

Track officials followed published rules and had two 6 lap heat races in Pure Mini Stock after 17 entrants signed in. These heats determined the start of the feature with finish of the first heat determining the starting order of the inside row and the second heat the same for the outside row. Feature start had #19 Vernon Nix on the pole, sharing the front row with # 00 Matthew Black and #17 Wayne Bridges and # 4 Dusty Jones on the 2nd row. The order after the first lap was #00 #19 #4. #54 Norman Chambers was slammed into the inside wall after becoming airborne in a tangle on the backstretch on lap 2, but continued after a caution. There was a great side by side duel between #4 and #19 in the ensuing laps with #19 prevailing. Finish was 1st #00 Matthew Black 2nd #19 Vernon Nix 3rd #13 Gary Parker 4th #28 Kim Arnell 5th #4 Dusty Jones 6th #54 Norman Chambers 7th #25 Dylan Parmer 8th #T17 Joe Spencer 9th #5Rocky Johnson 10th #80 Joe Morris.

Topless Late Models had #18c Shane Criswell winning the Mike Wheeler's Interstate Automotive $100 award for fast Qualifier with a 14.941 and he started on the pole with # 28 Daniel Goodman on his right. After 1 lap the order was #18c # 73 Jason Williams #94.5 Jamie Carr and #22 Mark Sims. A tangle and spin on the backstretch between #73 and #32 Randy Brown brought out a caution flag on lap 7 and #73 was placed back in his running spot of 2nd. After the race was cut to 20 laps because of fast approaching curfew of Midnight, the finish order was 1st #18c Shane Criswell 2nd #73 Jason Williams 3rd #99 Rucker Orr 4th #27 Glenn Morris 5th #94.5 Jamie Carr 6th #24 Rickey Peyton 7th #M96 Marty Lunsford 8th #21 Charlie Garrett 9th #25 Scott Duffy 10th #25 Daniel Goodman 11th #32 Randy Brown. #22 Mark Sims was disqualified for unapproved (aluminum) cylinder heads.

A curfew shortened Enduro race found #21 Kevin Horton on the pole with #55 Randy Johnson to his right. Running order after one lap was #21 #23 Greg Butler #43 Shelbi Nelms and #65 Junior Hatchett. A tangle later resulted in a cut tire for Shelbi and she was unable to continue competition with her Dad Michael Nelms in the #4. Finish was 1st #21 Kevin Horton 2nd #23 Greg Butler 3rd #4 Michael Nelms 4th #32 Brandon Miller 5th #38 Matthew Sweeney 6th #69 Stacey Moore 7th #65 Junior Hatchett and 8th #2 Jonathan Hemmings.

The watermelon eating contest turned out a lot of kids, teenagers and young adults eating a LOT of watermelon, but I failed to get names of winners. But it appeared a good time was had by all with plenty of watermelon left over.

First race of the night was Modified Mini Stock. Drawing the pole was #21 Chris Carr and on the outside was #27 Talmadge Simpson. Completion of the first lap brought the running order of #27, #21, #8 John Caldwell, #28 David Brackett. Simpson was the class of the race and by lap 5 his #27 had a half lap lead on second place. Finish was 1st #27 Talmadge Simpson, 2nd #21 Chris Carr, 3rd #8 John Caldwell, 4th #28 David Brackett.

Hobby Stock found #95 Richard Ray on the pole with Winford Minix in the #m4 on the outside. The first lap was #m4, #79 Carl Jones, #12 Gary Brand, #95, #B3 Clifton Moran. A yellow on lap 5 for a stalled car found the 1 lap order as #m4,#12,#79,#B3. The yellow appeared again on lap 8 when #95 hit the inside wall in turn 4. The restart resulted in #1 Wayne Chapman hitting the outer wall in turns 1&2. #B3 brought out the yellow with a flat tire on lap 14. The finish was 1st #m4 Winford Minix, 2nd #12 Gary Brand,  3rd #79 Carl Jones, 4th #1J Mike Jenkins, 5th #81 Houston Hatchett.

B Cadet started with #GT47 Thomas Phillips on the pole and #11 T.J. Joiner outside. The start was waved off after #14 David Chapman lost a wheel and tire and hit the outer wall in turns 3&4. A restart had #01 Blant Duke hard into the outside wall on the backstretch. #14 then re-entered the fray without loss of a lap because of the 2nd restart. First lap completion order was GT47,#11,#7,#3 Jeff Carter. By lap 3, #3 was in 2nd place and hotly pursuing # GT47, who had gotten a big lead. On lap 9 #GT47 hit the backstretch wall and brought out the yellow and afterwards it was announced the race was to be cut to 15 laps on time. Restart found #3 in the lead followed by #11,#14,#T7 Tim Bright Jr. This running order held to bring a finish of 1st #3 Jeff Carter, 2nd #11 T.J. Joiner, 3rd #14 David Chapman, 4th #T7 Tim Bright Jr.

Pure Mini Stock found #13 Gary Parker on the pole with #39 Bobby Arnold on the outside. First lap order was #39,#13,#17 Wayne Bridges, #23 Dylan Parker. On lap 4, #13 passed #39 and took the lead with the usual melee ongoing behind them. By lap 10 the order was #13, #19 Vernon Nix, #4 Dusty Jones #17,#23. Finish was 1st #13 Gary Parker, 2nd #19 Vernon Nix,#3rd #4 Dusty Jones, 4th #17 Wayne Bridges, 5th #23 Dylan Parker, 6th #00 Matthew Black, 7th #9 Rocky Johnson, 8th # J17 Joe Spencer, 9th #39 Bobby Arnold, 10th #27 Sam Wright.

NeSmith Late Models had the $100 award from the Racing Zone for fast time going to #91 Tod Darda with a 14.55. Outside was # K9 Dana Eiland. First lap’s ending had a running order of #91,#16 Josh Noles, # K9, #0 Craig Scott. On lap 4 #4 Chad Atha hit the inner wall on the backstretch for a caution flag, and on lap 19 #16w Trey White spun in turns 1&2, with another yellow on lap 20 for a stalled car. Finish was 1st #91 Tod Darda, 2nd #16 Josh Noles, 3rd # K9 Dana Eiland, 4th #0 Craig Scott, 5th #27 Doug Ludwig, 6th #55 Parish Duncan, 7th #18 Matt Dooley, 8th #9 Adam Brown, 9th #16w Trey White, 10th #25 Dustin Hoffman, 11th #28 Joe Cobb, 12th #96 Marty Lunsford, 13th #4 Chad Atha, 14th #21 Johnny Stinchcomb.

Topless Late Model class  award for fast time went to #9 Shane Fulcher with a time of 14.71 and $100 prize from Mike Wheeler’s Interstate Automotive was his. Outside of him for the start was #18c Shane Criswell. Running order of first lap was #9, #18c, #73 Jason Williams, #27 Glenn Morris, #99 Rucker Orr. #9 and #18c ran a fast, clean, tight race together and had built a half lap lead on the field by lap 11. A caution at lap 13 tightened the field up, but at the finish the order was 1st #9 Shane Fulcher, 2nd #18c Shane Criswell, 3rd #27 Glenn Morris, 4th #99 Rucker Orr, 5th #94.5 Jaime Carr, 6th #28 Daniel Goodman, 7th #73 Jason Williams.

Enduro class found #43 Shelbi Nelms on the pole and #55 Randy Johnson on the outside front row. First lap completion found the order as # 4 Michael Nelms,#55,#99 Mike Ray, #16 Lee Ownbey. #4X Joseph Carter spun on lap 4 and #55 on lap 8, and #16 on lap 11, another spin on lap 13 with a car stuck in the mud all brought restarts. The restart on the latter of these resulted in a spin and crash in turns 1&2 by #21 Steve Davis, #99, and #43, with #43 recovering only to spin again in turn 3. For the remaining laps #43 remained in the 2nd place following her father in the #4 car. Finish was 1st #4 Michael Nelms, 2nd #43 Shelbi Nelms, 3rd #16 Lee Ownbey, 4th #99 Mike Ray, 5th #31 Steve Davis.

The Demolition Derby saw #338 James Joe Carter have the dubious honor of the first car knocked out when he got down in the mud near the inside wall and got stuck, thereby becoming the easy target for other contestants who needed an easy target to get the required hits! Winner was #00 David Brewer.

Then the lights went out for a spectacular display of aerial fireworks which were fired from the location of the under construction go-kart track.

Even with all the extra activities in honor of the Fourth of July Holiday, it was all over and the crowd was leaving by 11:00pm.

Leading off the night's racing were the Modified Mini Stocks. Frank Long in the #07 drew the pole and led from flag to flag, at one time building over a half lap lead. But then something in his engine started to go sour, the engine began misfiring badly and the car began slowing. This led the crowd to wonder whether the fast closing field could catch him before the checker fell. The engine did last until the end though, and the finish was 1st #07 Frank Long, 2nd#8 John Caldwell, 3rd #D7 Lonnie Patterson, 4th #21 Chris Carr. After the victory interview, the car wouldn’t start again and had to be pushed to the pits!

Hobby Stock saw #4 Tyler Brown draw the pole with #M4 Winford Minix on the outside. Order of the leaders after completion of the first lap was #4, #M4, #A18 Mike Archer, #91Lee Ownby. The close quarters racing resulted in flat tires for #A18 and #20 Jay Connor and a pileup involving #20 and others. More wild action involving too many racers for me to keep written down resulted in #A18 getting slammed into the infield wall opening at turn 3 and an eventual called finish on time limits. Finish order was 1st #4 Tyler Brown, 2nd #M4 Winford Minix, 3rd #74 Jaime Garner, 4th #18 Chris Morris, 5th #95 Richard Ray, 6th #86 George Pergason, 7th #48 C. J. Haney, 8th #B3 Cliff Moran. #91 Lee Ownbey was disqualified for failure to meet minimum weight. He was 30# too light, most likely due to so much metal being knocked off the car in all the carnage on the track.

Pure Mini Stock had #26 Kim Arnell drawing the pole with #39 Bobby Arnold outside. The order of the field at completion of the first lap was # 26 #4 Dusty Jones, #39, #16 Stephen Hill. Lap 2 saw #39 spin in turn 2 and the restart was #4, #54 Norman Chambers, #16. Lap 4 brought a spin by #16 in turn 2 and the restart was #4, #54, #7 Russell Bright, #80 Benton Morris. Finish was 1st #4 Dusty Jones, 2nd #80 Benton Morris, 3rd #13 Gary Parker, 4th #7 Russell Bright, 5th #54 Norman Chambers, 6th #20 Matthew Black, 7th #J17 Joe Spencer, 8th #16 Stephen Hill, 9th #19 Vernon Holt, 10th #26 Kim Arnell.

B- Cadet had #777 Michael Bright draw the pole and # 3 Jeff Carter outside. First lap completion order was #3, #4 Robin Collins and #GT47 Thomas Phillips. A caution on lap 4 brought a restart with the order #3, #4, #Gt47, #T7 Tim Bright Jr. resulted in a spin by # GT47 into the inside wall in turns 1&2 and a trip to the pits on the hook. On lap 6 #T7 spun in turn 4. Finish was 1st #3  Jeff Carter, 2nd #4 Robin Collins, 3rd #01 Blant Duke, 4th #T7 Tim Bright Jr., 5th #31 Lee Fuller.

Craig Scott in the #0 took fast time in the NeSmith Late Model qualifying with a time of 14.914 winning the $100 fast time award from The Racing Zone. Outside was # 25 Dustin Hendrix. First lap completion order was #0, #55 Parrish Duncan, #25, #T1 Troy Tyson. On lap 2 a 2 car spin brought out the yellow and again on lap 4 when #32 Bobby Mills spun in turn #1. Finish was 1st #0 Craig Scott, 2nd #55 Parrish Duncan, 3rd #19 Jeremy Hall, 4th #25 Dustin Hendrix, 5th #16 Trey White, 6th #18 Matt Dooley.

Fast qualifying time in the Topless Late Models and winner of the $100 award from Mike Wheeler's Interstate Automotive was #21c Kenny Collins. Outside pole was #9 Shane Fulcher. Lap #1 completion order was #21c, #9, #73 Jason Williams, #99 Rucker Orr and # 27 Glenn Morris. A spin on lap 18 on a track rapidly becoming dry slick and dusty from the hot sun drawing out all the water in the clay saw the yellow out for the first time in the race. Restart order was # 21c, #9, #73, #99, #27. On lap 19 the #27 passed #99 to move to 4th. This order continued to the finish which was 1st #21c Kenny Collins, 2nd #9 Shane Fulcher, 3rd #73 Jason Williams, 4th # 27 Glenn Morris, 5th #99 Rucker Orr, 6th #11 Ryan Law, 7th #89 Corry Smith, 8th #28 Daniel Goodman.

Enduro class had #24 Jr. Hatchett drawing the pole and #16 Austin Horton drew the outside. First lap order was #16, #24 and #21 Kevin Horton and the other #21 Sammy Barge in a side by side dead heat for third. On lap 4 a car I couldn’t identify from my vantage point in turn 2 grazed the gap in the outside wall at the entrance to turn 3, the rear bounced at least 2 feet in the air, but the car continued on, apparently undamaged. Mike Ray in the #99 spun on lap 9 and the race was restarted after the yellow for a finish of 1st #21 Kevin Horton ,2nd #21 Sammy Barge, 3rd #4 Michael Nelms, 4th #22 Brandon Miller ,5th #99 Mike Ray, 6th #16 Austin Horton, 7th #17 Ray McKenzie, 8th #24 Jr. Hatchett, 9th #86 Pappy Powell, 10th #43 Renee Nelms.

The last checkered flag fell at 11:22PM.

The big race of the night was the $2000 to WIN Topless Late Model. Rucker Orr #99 set fast time of the night @14.925 and won the Mike Wheeler's Interstate Automotive $100 award for fast time. However a decision was made by track officials to invert the first 3 qualifiers. So Orr found himself starting 3rd with #91 Tod Darda, who normally runs Crate Late Models on the pole and #18c Shane Criswell on the outside pole. The start wound up being flagged off because # 16 Josh Noles crashed into the outside wall of the 1st turn. The restart and completion of the 1st lap found the order as #18c, #99 and #G-1 Glenn McWaters. A spin by #24 Ricky Payton on lap 14 brought out the caution and there were still 12 cars running out of 16 starters. A multi car tangle on lap 16 resulted in damage to #9 Shane Fulcher, and #91 Tod Darda. #9 changed a tire and returned to race again, but # 91 drove to the front straight and stopped, only to be hauled away on the hook.  #18c, #99, #27x Rodney Peters and #77 Matthew Turner ran a very tight race from the restart until a caution on lap 39 resulted in a green, white, checkered run to the finish.

Finish was 1st  #18c Shane Criswell,  2nd  #99 Rucker Orr, 3rd  #27x Rodney Peters,  4th  #77 Matthew Turner in another Crate Late Model, 5th  #89 Corey Smith, 6th  #27 Glenn Morris, 7th  #9 Shane Fulcher, 8th  #1 Richard Mills, 9th  #G1 Glenn McWaters, 10th  #8 David Burton.

Modified Mini Stock found one of it's top competitors eliminated in hot laps when #9 Evan Lancaster crashed and damaged his car beyond trackside repair. The race found 3rd place starter #3 Trey Hudson taking the lead and pulling away. But by lap 4 #8 John Caldwell had found another groove up high and was pulling alongside on the outside. #8 finally made that outside pass on lap 7 and on lap 8 #21 Chris Carr also passed #3, whose engine had begun misfiring. Finish was 1st #8 John Caldwell 2nd #21 Chris Caldwell 3rd #3 Trey Hudson.

Hobby Stock found #1 Nathan Bride and #4 Cory Potts starting 1&2 and finishing the same only to be disqualified, both for unapproved carburetors. The official finish was 1st #M4 Winford Minix, 2nd #41 Jason Anthony, 3rd #12 Gary Bond, 4th #57 Craig Ownby, 5th #18 Chris Morris.

B- Cadet found Lee Fuller in the #31 car drawing the pole after several weeks absence, and alongside was #3 Jeff Carter. However the completion of the first lap found their order reversed. The 2nd lap found #1 Allen Roddy in the 2nd turn wall and a restart then resulted in a 4th lap crash between #32 Bobby Mills and #777 Lonnie Bright. The next mishap was when #31 pushed #3 around in a spin in turn 2. #1 was sent to the rear and #3 returned to the lead for the restart. The finish was 1st  #3 Jeff Carter, 2nd  #GT47 Thomas Phillips, 3rd  #47 Jason Causey, 4th  #31 Lee Fuller, 5th #T11 T. J. Joiner, 6th  #777 Lonnie Bright, 7th  #28 Robert Chandler, 8th  #32 Bobby Mills, 9th  #01 Blant Duke, 10th  #T7 Tim Bright, 11th  #1 Allen Roddy.

Pure Mini Stock was a fast, clean race with outside pole car #16 Steven Hill winning. 2nd  was #4 Dusty Jones 3rd  #7 Russell Bright 4th  #67 Michael Crawford 5th  #J17 Joe Spencer 6th  #27 Sam Wright 7th  #39 Bobby Arnold 8th  #18 Joe Russell.

Enduro found some new cars and the return of some who had not been to a recent race after being here in the past. The first lap's completion found #4 Michael Nelms in the lead after starting 2nd and followed by #23 Greg Butler who started 1st. #4 Michael Nelms held on to finish 1st. 2nd #23 Greg Butler 3rd #16 Austin Horton 4th #21 Steve Davis 5th #55 Randy Johnson 6th #86 Pappy Powell 7th 65 Junior Hatchett 8th #32 Brandon Miller 9th #43 Shelbi Nelms.

Even after the 1 hour later start time to help with the heat the last checker fell on the Enduro class around 10:45.

This hot June evening of racing began with the Hobby Stock race. The completion of the first lap saw the order as 1st 4P Mike Parker, 2nd 1J Mike Jenkins, 3rd  57 Ricky Garland, 4th 12 Gary Brand, and 5th M4 Winford Minix. On lap 6 Garland spun off turn 4 and collected Gary Brand during his spin to the inside, Brand with car undamaged was stuck in the mud, along with Garland. The restart was 4P,1J, 12, M4, and #1 Wayne Chapman, who had started last. The official finish was 1st #12 Gary Brand, 2nd #M4 Winford Minix, 3rd #1 Wayne Chapman, 4th #57 Ricky Garland. Mike Parker #4P and Mike Jenkins #1J were protested by Gary Brand and refused to tear down, resulting in disqualification and a 2 week suspension.

Modified Mini Stock was a flag to flag victory for #07 Frank Long, as he drew the pole position and held it through a caution free race. The starting order was pretty much the racing order till lap 12, when #9 driven this week by Eric Hogsed passed #27 Talmadge Simpson. Finish was 1st #07 Frank Long, 2nd #9 Eric Hogsed, 3rd #27 Talmadge Simpson, 4th #8 John Caldwell, 5th #21 Chris Carr.

Blant Duke in # 01 also pulled a flag to flag victory run in B- Cadet, which was a fast race with only one mishap when T.J. Joiner spun off turn 2 on lap 11. The finishing order was 1st #01 Blant Duke, 2nd #3 Jeff Carter, 3rd #47 Jason Causey, 4th #25 Bobby Slauson, 5th #14 David Chapman, 6th #11 T.J. Joiner.

Pure Mini Stock saw Dusty Jones run a flag to flag lead only to be disqualified for "spacer plate too thick". The race was peppered with caution flags for numerous spins with no heavy damage to cars or drivers (except ego). Finish after disqualification was 1st #D7 Lonnie Patterson, 2nd #00 Matthew Black, 3rd #19 Vernon Nix, 4th #5 Rocky Johnson, 5th #13 Gary Parker, 6th #1 Mary Lee Chapman, 7th #54 Norman Chambers, who after a several week absence blew an engine and had a resulting oil fire which was quickly extinguished by track safety crews without any apparent damage other than the engine.

NeSmith Late Models found Tod Darda #91 again taking fast qualifying time and the Racing Zone $100 award for same. The race saw Darda lead from flag to flag, hotly pursued the whole race by # 0 Craig Scott. The track was becoming dry slick and the race was punctuated with several spins with no serious damage. Finish was 1st #91 Tod Darda, 2nd # 0 Craig Scott, 3rd #55 Parrish Duncan, 4th #16 Tony Kemp, 5th #19 Jeremy Hall, 6th #27L Doug Ludwig, 7th T11 Troy Tyson, 8th #21 Johnny Stinchcomb, 9th #32 Bobby Mills.

David Burton #8 set the fast time in Topless Late Model and won the Mike Wheeler's Interstate Automotive award of $100. He then did a flag to flag race in the lead, despite all the action behind him from a dry slick track with several spins and minor mishaps. Finish was 1st #8 David Burton, 2nd #27 Glenn Morris, 3rd #73 Jason Williams, 4th #28 Jimmy Feltman, 5th #18C Shane Criswell, 6th #9 Shane Fulcher, 7th # 89 Carey Smith, 8th #24 Ricky Payton, 9th #10 Nicky Prosser.

Enduro class found 86 year old Pappy Powell in #86 drawing the pole position and holding the lead into the 2nd lap when Austin Horton slipped by. A spin by # X4 Joseph Carter on lap 4 brought a restart, and on lap 7 #99 Mike Ray got by Pappy and the finish was 1st #16 Austin Horton, 2nd #99 Mike Ray, 3rd #86 Pappy Powell, 4th #17 Ray Mckinzie, 5th #4X Joseph Carter, 6th #23 Greg Butler, 7th #55 Randy Johnson.

The last checkered flag fell at 10:15 in a display of "Get R Done".

The big buildup about the $250 bounty on #41 Scott Sherrer was all for naught when he failed to appear. Announcement made that he was on vacation with his family. So the bounty has ended. #12 Gary Brand led the first lap from his outside pole starting spot, however by the third lap Cory Potts #4 had taken the lead. A wreck by #07 Clifton Moran and several spins by #05 Joey McConnell brought out the yellow several times and #24 Allen McConnell gained the lead. The official finish was 1st #24 Allen McConnell, 2nd #M4 Winfred Minix, 3rd #12 Gary Jones, 4th #79 Carl Jones, 5th #81 Houston Hatchett. Post race inspection disqualified #4 Cory Potts.

Modified Mini Stock was a flag to flag run to victory for #9 Evan Lancaster, as he drew the pole for the starting lineup and led till the end, although Talmadge Simpson in the #27 did a fine job of keeping him “up on the wheel" to finish second. Finishing order:1st #9 Evan Lancaster, 2nd #27 Talmadge Simpson, 3rd #07 Frank Long, 4th #8 John Caldwell.

The B- Cadet feature found Jeff Carter in a flag to flag run from his starting spot on the outside pole. He held the lead thru restarts from a caution on lap 3 for a spinning car and lap 11 when Randy Brown #25 lost his right rear wheel and tire. Finish: 1st #3 Jeff Carter, 2nd #01 Blant Duke, 3rd #T7 Tim Bright Jr., 4th #14 David Chapman, 5th #1 Allen Roddy.

NeSmith Dirt Late Models found Tod Darda winning the $100 fast time award from The Racing Zone with fast time qualifying. However on the first lap #0 Craig Scott took the lead from the outside pole and proceeded to set a blistering pace in a very fast race among a group of very competent drivers who made few if any mistakes. Finish was 1st #0 Craig Scott, 2nd #21B Chip Brindle, 3rd #55 Parish Duncan, 4th #16 Tony Kemp, 5th #91 Tod Darda, 6th #19 Paul Walters, 7th #19 Jeremy Hall, 8th #18 Matt Dooley, 9th #21 Johnny Stinchcomb, 10th #T11 Troy Tyson.

Pure Mini Stock found #27 Sam Wright and #00 Matthew Black drawing the front row. However by completion of lap 6 #13 Gary Parker took the lead, passing all on the outside from 4th starting spot. Lap 6 found #7 Russell Bright spinning on the front stretch in a relatively low caution flag race which wound up being a fast, hard and clean racing event. Finish: 1st #16 Eric Hogsed, 2nd #4 Dusty Jones, 3rd #7 Russell Bright, 4th #13 Gary Parker,  5th #5 Rocky Johnson.

Topless Late Models found Shane Criswell taking the Mike Wheeler Interstate Automotive award of $100 for fast qualifying time. #18c Criswell held the lead from flag to flag in fast paced racing that was punctuated by several restarts from spins and spills. Finish: 1st #18C Shane Criswell, 2nd #99 Rucker Orr, 3rd #9 Shane Fulcher, 4th #25 Scott Duffey, 5th #24 David Burton, 6th #24 Ricky Payton, 7th #27 Glenn Morris, 8th #55 Duane Treadwell, 9th #4 Travis Allen, 10th #73 Jason Williams, 11th #14 Jim Harrah, 12th #32 Paul Holloway, 13th  #10 Nicky Passer, 14th #89 Carey Smith, 15th #888 Dennis Hale, 16th #28 Daniel Goodman, 17th #60 Lee Ownby. This class had a notably increased car count!

The Enduro race found “The Riverdale Rocket” #99 Mike Ray drawing the pole and holding the lead till #16 Austin Horton took it over on lap 5. On lap 11 Ray, pushing hard to regain the lead, tangled with Horton on the back stretch and wound up in the backstretch outside wall. Finish 1st #16 Austin Horton, 2nd #86 “Pappy” Powell, 3rd #17 Ray McKenzie,  4th 4X Joseph Carter.

Racing was over around 10:30 pm in a show of “get’ r done” ahead of the expected but no-show rain.

New Senoia Raceway

May 22, 2010

By David Castile

Premiere event of the night was the $1000 to WIN B- Cadet feature. These cars normally draw for starting position, but tonight they time trialed with #01 Blant Duke taking fast time. But a drawing between the first 4 cars placed the start with #31 Blake Griffin 1st, #3 Jeff Carter 2nd, #01 Blant Duke 3rd and  #17m Mark Knight 4th. A mix-up on the track with cars sliding and spinning everywhere on the backstretch brought out a restart with the fans treated to a side by side race for over 2 laps between #3 & #17m, then a flat tire and a spin by #T7 Tim Bright Jr. brought a yellow and a restart and then the #01 had a flat, bringing another yellow. A new restart was #3, #17m, #31, #4 Rubin Collins, and #29 Rusty Johnson, who was driving with the front of his hood sticking straight up. A removal of the mangled remnants of #29's hood then saw Rusty Johnson put on an awesome display of rim riding the outside all the way to the front only to pull out with a flat tire and he didn't return with his #29. Another restart for lap 16 was #31, #17M, and #3 which positions they held till a yellow on lap 22 for another spin by #T7. Another restart lasted till the last lap with a crash into the backstretch wall by #31y Lee Fuller bringing on a one lap dash with the finish being #31 Blake Griffin 1st with the $1000 win, #17M Mark Knight  2nd, #3 Jeff Carter  3rd, #4 Rubin Collins 4th and #14 David Chapman 5th.

Highly anticipated by all was the Hobby Stock race with the bounty on #41 Scott Sherrer now up to $150..The start saw #81 Houston Hatchett on the pole and #41 Scott Sherrer outside front row. A caution at lap #4 saw the running order as #41, #4 Tyler Brown- #81, #M4 Winford Minix, and #B3 Michael Crowe on the restart. A pileup caused by a lapped car's failure to move brought out another yellow. The restart lineup was #41- #B4- #X David Ownby- #A18 Mike Archer, who had come from last twice, once for the start and once for a tire flat & change. More action brought a finish of #41Scott Sherrer 1st- #M4 Winford Minix 2nd- #1J Mike Jenkins 3rd- #1 Wayne  Chapman 4th- #X David Ownbey 5th. So next week the bounty on Sherrer will be $200 and he carried home an extra $50 tonight.

Another race with a bounty, and which had the facebook pages buzzing all week was the Enduro class. After several wins, "The Riverdale Rocket" #99 Mike Ray had a $100 bounty put on his head. Ray started 5th, "back in the pack" and got hung up behind a slow car and a starting lap melee saw his car take a couple of good whacks on the back stretch while #16  Austin Horton collided with the backstretch inside wall. Despite obvious damage to the car's handling, #99 fought his way to 2nd by lap #5, but was unable to advance further. The race finished with #16 Austin Horton winning and taking the $100 bounty -#99 Mike Ray 2nd- #17 Ray McKinzie 3rd- #38 Matt Swancey 4th-and #4X Joseph Carter 5th.

The Modified Mini Stock race saw a clean start with #9 Evan Lancaster taking the lead and holding it till the finish while hotly pursued, first by #3 Allen Brewster and later by #27 Talmadge Simpson with #27 very close at the end. Finish was #9 Evan Lancaster 1st- #27Talmadge Simpson 2nd- #3 Allen Brewster 3rd- #18 Heath Brewster 4th- and #21 Chris Carr 5th.

Pure Mini Stock saw #16R Randy Blair moving to front on lap #2 after starting 4th and holding on till the checker through all the usual spins, spills and banging each other and the wall. Finish was #16R Randy Blair 1st- #7 Russell Bright 2nd- #4 Dusty Jones 3rd- #00 Matthew Black 4th- #21 Chris McKechan 5th.

Nesmith Late Models saw #16 Tony Kemp take the fast time and the $100 from The Racing Zone for fast qualifier. A clean start with #16 in the lead followed by #25 Justin McCree- #77 Matthew Turner-and #21B Chip Brindle held till lap #9 when the order changed to #25- #77- #16. A spin on lap #23 brought out a restart and the finish was #25 Justin McCree 1st- #77 Matthew Turner 2nd-#16 Tony Kemp 3rd- #91 Guy Robinson 4th- #0 Craig Scott 5th.

Topless Late Models found #73 Jason Williams taking the Mike Wheeler Interstate Automotive award for fast qualifier. A car hard into the backstretch wall on the start brought on a restart with #73- #9 Shane Fulcher- #99 Rucker Orr- #25 Scott Duffey- and #21c Kenny Collins leading off. The first lap saw #9 move to the front and after another restart from a yellow for debris on the track #99 moved to 2nd on lap 3 and 21c 3rd. A blown engine by 3B2 Clifton Moran on lap 13 brought out the yellow while #9 had a 3/4 lap lead. Another spin brought a restart and the finish was #9 Shane Fulcher 1st- #21c Kenny Collins 2nd- #99 Rucker Orr  3rd- #73 Jason Williams 4th- #89 Carey Smith 5th

All the pileups plus the qualifying of B Cadet found the last checker falling only minutes before the midnight curfew.

New Senoia Raceway

May 15, 2010

By David Castile

First race of the night was Hobby Stock. Track officials had placed a $100 bounty on Scott Sherrer #41 as the winner of the last 3 consecutive races. To claim the bounty, a racer must beat the car with the bounty while it is running at the finish, not knocking the bounty car out, and with a legal, rules compliant car yourself. Then you get the $100 in addition to the prize money. If no one beats the bounty car, he gets $50 of the prize money and the other $50 is put back in for an addition to the bounty the next event. The race began with almost the worst possible draw for Sherrer #41 drawing a number that placed him in 9th position out of a starting field of 10 cars and Mike Parker #4P, his chief competitor lately, on the pole. A yellow for debris in turn #1 found Sherrer in 5th at the restart. Halfway, Sherrer spun due to a tire cut in the close competition and brought out the yellow and his crew made a fast pit stop to change the tire.  A restart found Parker stopped on track due to a cut right rear and another yellow while his crew changed that tire. After the restart a hard race found #41 in the lead and #4P hotly pursuing. A spin on lap 14 by #32 Terry Finnel brought out the yellow, and the restart was #41, #4P, #M4 Winford Minix, and #4 Corey Potts up front for the restart. The race to the checker found #41 and #4P banging fenders and trading paint all the way to the finish. Finish was Sherrer #41, Parker #4P, M4 Minix, #32 Finnel, #1J Mike Jenkins, and #4 Potts. But wait! There's more! Parker filed a protest on Sherrer, who responded with a counter protest on Parker! Teardown found Sherrer legal for his fourth consecutive win, and Parker to be illegal and disqualified. So the final official finish was #41 Scott Sherrer 1st, #M4 Winford Minix 2nd, #32 Terry Finnel 3rd, #1J Mike Jenkins 4th, and #4 Corey Potts 5th. And next week will find the bounty on Sherrer @ $150!

Modified Mini Stock found #8 John Caldwell getting a cut left front tire on the start and getting his courtesy laps while his crew changed the tire. The restart made it through the first lap and continuance of the race found #27 Talmadge Simpson in the turn #1 wall and #3 Allen Brewster spinning. Halfway found #9 Erik Hogsed getting past #28 Ryan Heppner into the lead. Hot competition back in the pack saw #18 Heath Brewster slap the back stretch wall and continue on. Finish was #9 Eric Hogsed 1st, #28 Ryan Heppner 2nd, #3 Allen Brewster 3rd, #18 Heath Brewster 4th, and #8 John Caldwell 5th.

The start of the B Cadet race had spectators on the bank above the first turn wall scrambling as the #31 Lee Fuller actually had his right side tires on top of the first turn wall ! A restart brought a battle between #3 Jeff Carter and #11 T.J. Joiner even as they pulled away from the field #T7 spun, bringing a yellow. the restart with Carter and Joiner again pulling away from a field held up by a badly misfiring #12 in which driver Gary Brand was doing a masterful job of making his car as "wide" as possible The finish was #3 Jeff Carter 1st, #11 T.J. Joiner 2nd, #12 Gary Brand holding on for 3rd, #25 Jeff Slauson 4th, and #92 Hank McNair 3rd.

NeSmith Late Model qualifier Matthew Turner #77 proved to all that just because it's a "crate engine" class doesn't mean it's slow when he set a new track record of 14.312 seconds to win the Racing Zone Fast Qualifier award. The race was fast, with only one yellow when #91 Tod Darda spun in the 3rd turn. Turner #77 led from flag to flag, proving his fast time was no fluke. Finish was #77 Turner 1st, #33 Randy Hester 2nd, #91 Darda 3rd, #55 Parish Duncan 4th, and #88 Matt Woodson 5th.

Pure Mine Stock class found 2 cars in the wall in the 4th turn and brought a restart which found #D7 Dorough Bright and #4 Dusty Jones battling side by side for the lead and Jones eventually taking the lead. The usual spins and spills were highlighted by #7B Brandon Bright blowing an engine with the oil catching fire. With the fire out and the race restarted the finish was #4 Dusty Jones 1st, #00 Matthew Black  2nd, #16 Stephen Hill 3rd, #J17 Joe Spencer 4th, and #19 Vernon Nix 5th.

Topless Late Models found #18c Shane Criswell (now topless) winning the Mike Wheeler Interstate Automotive fast qualifier award. Last week's mayhem was absent as the race was mostly caution free with #9 Shane Fulcher able to continue after a spin in turn #4 and #27M Spencer Mosely knocked out late in the race in turn #1. Finish was #18c Shane Criswell 1st, #33 Brian Reese 2nd, #99 Rucker Orr 3rd, #8 David Burton 4th, and #27 Glenn Morris 5th.

Enduro class found the fist lap order being #99 Mike Ray moving to first after starting 4th, #44 Michael Nelms holding on to 2nd, and the man with the ever changing car number #86, the 86 year old Pappy Powell in 3rd after starting 6th. With the race continuing in this order #M1Craig Moss made a hard right and hit the 4th turn wall head on to bring out a yellow. The restart found the same order till Nelms spun in turn 4 and went to the rear. The finish was #99 Mike Ray 1st, #44 Michael Nelms 2nd, #86 Pappy Powell in 3rd, #4X Joseph Carter 4th, and #17 Ray McKinzie 5th.

Returning to fast paced action after last week's red flags and delays, the last checker fell @ 10:45.

New Senoia raceway

Sat. May 8, 2010

By David Castile

The Hobby class race started off with a melee when the front row cars of Eddy Johnson #E1 and Mike Jenkins #1J tangled and spun to the inside wall resulting in a 5 car pileup. After a couple more mishaps things settled down to a duel between Scott Sherrer #41, Mike Parker #4P, and Jay Conner #20. Then Sherrer was spun on the front stretch by Parker. Officials placed Sherrer back in front on the restart and penalized Parker to the rear. Finish was Sherrer #41 1st, Winford Minix #M4 2nd, Jay Conner #20 3rd and Parker #4P 4th.

An increased field of cars in Modified Mini Stock charged away from the green flag only to have a 3 car pileup in the 4th turn sending all 3 cars to the pits with too much damage to fix and continue. The race finished with Eric Hogsed #9 1st, Todd Brewster #3 2nd, and Heath Brewster #18 3rd.

Enduro class was a flag to flag victory for Mike Ray #99 when the luck of the draw placed him on the pole for the start, and although challenged throughout the race, it finished with Mike Ray #99 1st, Blake Griffin #44 2nd. and Greg Butler #44 3rd.

B- Cadet class saw a full field of cars charge into turn 1 in a "wad", resulting in a 3 car pile up in the first turn. The restart saw James Watkins #J4 hit the wall and leave the race. A hard fought race finished with Rusty Johnson #29 1st, Gary Brand #12 2nd, and Bobby Slauson #25 3rd.

Pure Mini Stock found a good field of cars with drivers doing a good job of racing rather than wrecking and Norman Chambers #54 gaining an early lead with Dorough Bright #D7 in hot pursuit. Finish was Chambers #54 1st, Bright #D7 2nd, and Wesley Patterson #21 3rd.

NeSmith Late Models had the wrecker crews and the 4 wheeler push cars busy again in a race full of bumps and spins. Tod Darda #91 took the lead from the pole position and held it through all the mayhem behind him. The finish was Darda #91 1st, Doug Ludwig #27 2nd, and Chad Marchman #6 3rd.

The Topless Late Model 30 lap $2000 to WIN race was an action filled wreck fest that had so many pile ups that required so much time to clear up that it resulted in the race running extremely long and being called for the curfew law at 20 laps. Fast qualifier Shane Fulcher #9 and outside front row qualifier Shane Criswell #18C led the 22 car field into the first turn on the green and 7 cars in mid pack piled up failing to make the first lap. Glen McWaters #G1 wound up with his wheels in the air. Wreckers, push cars and bare hands worked to clear the wreckage, and thankfully, no one was injured. Shortly thereafter a car lost a lot of oil on the backstretch and another melee ensued. More good cars were towed to the pits in the aftermath. The race as mentioned, was shut down @ 20 laps for curfew. The finishing order was Shane Fulcher #9 1st, Glenn Morris #27 2nd, Rucker Orr #99 3rd, Chad Marchman #6 4th, Michael Brewer #22 5th, Marrin Cook #40 6th, Tod Darda #B12 7th, Scott Duffey #25 8th, Corey Roulette #05 9th, and Johnny Cloer #24 10th. Rick Culpepper #110 took the checker in third but a protest was filed against the top 3 finishers for both a top and bottom end teardown, and Culpepper declined to tear down his engine and was disqualified.

Race Results at New Senoia Raceway

Sat. May1, 20110

By David Castile

Hobby class led off the night's racing. After the drawing for starting order put Ed Johnson in #1, a V-6 powered pickup, on the pole, he held the lead, with Mike Parker in the #4 Camaro close behind and #41 Scott Sherrer just to their rear after starting last, a spin out by #74 with a caution flag and restart not changing this order. Late in the race Parker's #4 began smoking badly and dropped out. Sherrer #41 then challenged Johnson #1 for the lead and after a lap or two of side by side battle, Sherrer took the lead. Finish was Scott Sherrer #41 First, with Ed Johnson #1 Second, and Winford Minix #4 Third.

Modified Mini Stock is starting to take on an appearance in keeping with their class name as all the cars resembled late models with their wedge shaped sheet metal bodies. After starting on the outside of the front row, Richard Bagby #6 beat Evan Lancaster #9 to the first turn just enough to come out of turn 2 in the lead and pulling away. Lancaster #9 closed back up mid race and at one point was again side by side with Bagby #6. However Bagby found a "second wind" or a faster groove, and pulled away again to win. Finishing order was #6 Richard Bagby First, Evan Lancaster #9 Second and Allen Brewster #3 Third.

B- Cadet drivers again showed their competitive spirit with the first race start having a 3 car wide run into turns 1&2 that actually made it through clear! But a spin by Chris Justus #7 in turn 4 brought a restart. Blake Griffin #31 took the lead after 2 laps with William Blair #22 close behind. Another spin by #7 resulted in another yellow. The restart had Griffin #31 still out front and a battle going on behind him. Positions changing too fast for this writer to put on paper with cars #3, #47 and #22 trading places (and paint) for several laps. Then Jeff Carter #3 and William Blair #22 raced side by side in another display of hard driving, with Blair finally besting Carter in that race within the race. Final finish was Blake Griffin in #31 in First, William Blair in #22 with a hard fought Second, and Chris Justus #7 surviving early mishaps to finish Third.

NeSmith Late Models found Tod Darda #91 with fast time and the pole position and proving it was no fluke by holding his lead in a tightly contested race with Craig Scott #0 at one point almost getting by on the low side, only to have a right rear tire go flat. Scott pitted for a tire and returned, only to drop out again with the replacement tire obviously not getting it done. Finish was Tod Darda #91 First, Tony Kemp #16 having a very close finish in Second, and Joe Cobb #28 coming home in Third.

Enduro class found Mike Ray #99 in the lead early after taking a weekend off the last race. Michael Nelms #4 put on his usual display of high groove driving in a side by side battle with Mike Swancey #38 only to slap the outside fence on the backstretch laps later. Nelms actually continued for another lap only to have the engine backfire loudly and die on the backstretch. The finish was Mike Ray #99 First, Matt Swancey #38 Second, and Michael Nelms #4 Third.

Topless Late Models found Shane Criswell #18 with fast time and the pole position and Scott Duffy #25 beside him on the front row. The start was proof however that no one in the race was willing to concede anything, as they poured into the first and second turns 2,3, and 4 wide! After a side by side duel Criswell #18 took the lead, hotly pursued by Duffey #25 and Rucker Orr #99. After a mishap back in the snarling and battling pack resulted in a restart, Duffey #25 spun, and Criswell #18 again took the lead despite a left front fender flapping in the wind. Hotly pursuing and right behind at the finish was Rucker Orr #99. Glenn Morris #27 was Third in this highly competitive race.

The Final race of the night, but certainly not the least, was the 25 lap main event, $500 to WIN Pure Mini Stock Championship. This is big money for these drivers and they showed their will to win from the start which saw cars 2 and 3 wide through the first and second turns, down the backstretch and into turns 3 and 4, where David Chapman (#1) took a hard lick into the outside wall which took him out for the night. A restart again had 3 wide racing into turns 1&2, and after 2 laps another tangle between Ross Baines (#23) and Benton Morris (#80) brought out the caution and another restart. The race was filled with plenty of action as well as cautions and as the checkered flag was approaching the night was slowed by another spin. The restart found that Norman Chambers (#54) had moved from 11th starting place into 5th in his usual smooth style. Out front was Brandon Bright (#7B) in what would prove to be a great race for the local driver. Second was Dusty Jones (#4), with third being Dan Bennett (#32). A spinning Dan Bennett on the front stretch coming down for the white flag with Bright and Jones side by side brought out the yellow and a restart with a lap setback for a "green, white, checker" run. This restart saw Norman Chambers (#54) spinning into the front stretch inside wall to bring on a repeat restart that was hard fought till the end. Finish was a well earned victory by Brandon Bright (#7B), Second was Dusty Jones (#4), with a hard charging Norman Chambers (#54) coming from the rear in 2 laps to get side by side with Jones for second at the checker only to fall short just a couple of feet to finish Third. Fourth was Ross Baines (#23) with Joe Spencer (#17J) rounding out the top five. All in all, a hard fought race with deserving finishes for all who survived the caution filled feature. Again the track crew and officials showed their skill and efficiency with the final checkered flag of the night coming down at 10:25 pm.

New Senoia Raceway

By David Castile

The racers running in Pure Mini Stock proved in convincing fashion that a big engine and brute horsepower aren't necessary to put on a spectacular race. After the usual action filled race with spills, spins, bumps and bangs, Matthew Black (#00) and Norman Chambers (#54) brought their cars across the finish line in a near dead heat, side by side, battling for the victory. Black took the checker with only a foot of lead in this fight to the finish. Rickey Pace (#21X) was close behind in third and Brandon Bright (#7B) was Fourth.

The B- Cadet race started out with Blake Griffin (#31G) squeezed into the front stretch wall on the start, bringing on a restart. Several other spins and mishaps, including a 3 car pileup involving Blant Duke(#01), Dennis Moncrief (#57), and William Blair (#22) in turns 1&2 kept the fans on their feet while Blake Griffin (#31G) proved the wall scrubbing at the start hadn't damaged his car as he won. Second belonged to Jeff Carter (#3) and third was Lee Fuller (#31Y).

Hobby class also had it's share of spins and spills, and after a hard fought race Scott Sherer (#41) won, with Gary Brand (#07) in second and Winford Minix (#X4) placing third.

Modified Mini class was proof positive that Evan Lancaster (#9) has the car to beat in that group, as he  took the lead from outside on the front row to hold on throughout the race to finish first with Richard Bagby (#6) finishing second and Frank Long (#07) in third.

NeSmith Late Models proved once again that that using a "crate" engine (one that is built to very strict specs by a licensed and bonded engine builder) brings some close competition and that a win requires driving skill and determination. Richard Stevens (#00) and Craig Scott (#0) battled side by side for several laps before it all shook out with Stevens first and Scott second. Third place was Matthew Turner in the #10 car.

Topless Late Models ran a fast, clean race with action galore back in the pack. But Jason Williams in the #73 car proved convincingly that his car and skills were top shelf for the night as he led flag to flag after setting fast time in qualifying. Rucker Orr (#99) finished second with Glenn Morris (#27) in third.

Enduro class was a showcase for the skills of setup and driving for Michael Nelms (#4), who last week won on a wet track running the high groove waaay up against the wall. This week the track had lots less moisture in it and he again took the victory running the inside groove down low. Kevin Horton (#16) wound up upside down in the fourth turn but was uninjured. Joseph Carter (#4x) finished second and Matt Swancey (#38) third.
